This fall, with hints of shimmers and metallic hues, the runway will be kicking up the ol’ vie-de-Boheme look with a bit of an edgy, modern twist. No longer reserved for club-hopping ’90s teenagers, shimmery metallic lids are making a major comeback.

The Dior Spring-Summer 2014 fashion show had the runway littered and glittered with bold gold lids and fresh faces. Applying this look to the real world is as simple as pairing it with a matte, nude lip. Be sure to keep the metallic eye in mind for this party season and well into next year.

Keep calm and shine on like Jenny Packham displayed in her Spring Fashion Week show. She, along with countless other designers, were all over this ethereal look like white on … well, eyelids. A wash of iridescent whites and pinks gave lids a dewy, fresh appearance. Try this perfect everyday look by layering an allover cream shadow or illuminator under a pink or white iridescent shadow.

For something a bit more sultry, take a cue from the always stunning Emma Stone. She’s known not only for her gorgeous gingery hair, but also for her signature eye makeup that usually incorporates a metallic shadow and cat eye. Use a silver-based gray shimmer shadow in the center of the eye, right under the brow bone, and apply a deeper metallic blue in the crease of the eye socket and along the top and bottom lash line. Top that off with liquid liner and a bit of mascara, and you’ve got this fall’s hottest fall trend.
